သမင်ရတု (Pitiful Deer)

သခင်လူများ ကျွန့်စကားကို ရွှီးနားခံ (My fellow friends, please listen to me
ရှိလွန်ခါ တောမြိုင်ခွီး (Once upon a time, there was a jackal
ချီသမင်သည် သစ်ပင်ကြီးအောက်ကနီလည်း --။ (and a deer under a tree.
မြင့်ထိပ်ဗွီ ခေါင်ထိပ်ဖျား (A crow is crowing on the tree
ကျီးတခုသည် ခေါ်မှုမြည်သံကြားက (Jackal said Oh my deer,
အချစ်ရွှီသမင် ညေခါခင်ပွန်း မြဲစွာမွှမ်းသည် (It will not be good to be friend
ကောင်းလွန်းမည် မထင်လည်း --။ (with the crow.
မြီတွင်သာလားရလျှင် ကိုနှင့်ငါလျှင် (You and me walk on the ground,
ချစ်ခင်ရမည် အဆွီနှလုံးသွင်းလည်း --။ (So, we should be good friends.
ခွီးလှည့်ပတ်ဆိုရတ်မှာ ကောင်းယောင်ထင်၍ (The deer believe in the deceiving words
သမင်လိုက်လီရာလည်း --။ (of the jackal.
လယ်သည်စပါး ပန်းနုဖျားသည် (If you come with me,
ယခု စားမည်မှတ်လော (You can eat good fruits and vegetables
လိုတိုင်းဝမ်း၀ စားရမည် မချွတ်လည်း --။ (at your will.
ခွီးလှည့်ပတ်ဆိုရတ်မှာ (The deer believed in the jackal
ကောင်းယောင်ထင်၍ သမင်ထွက်စားပြန်လည်း --။ (And went to eat the vegetables in the field.
ထိုယောက်ျားလယ်သခင် (Soon, the farmer set up a trap on the way.
ပြီးခုန်ပင် လာတုံလတ်
သရီကျော့ကွင်း
ထောင်လျှက် လမ်းတွင်ထားလည်း --။
ခါတပါးသည် လားခီမိ (And the deer had fallen on the trap.
သရီကျော့ကွင်း (The rope was tangling on its neck.
လိုင်ဝယ် လျှင်ဆောငြိလည်း --။
မချိရုန်းရင်းဆာ (Oh, my dear friend, Jackal
အဆွီလျှင် တောမြိုင်ခွီး( Come and help me and save my life.
သီမည်ဖီးကို
လျှင်ဆော ကယ်တင်ပါလှည့် --။
ဒွန်းစန္ဒာဟိန္ဒူမျိုး (The jackal said I am a Brahman and I cannot bite the leather of
နွားသရီကို မကိုက်ပါဖူးတော့လည်း --။ (the cow.
မချိပူပြင်းစွ (Sooner, the crow came and said don’t be afraid
အဆွီလျှင် နောင်ကျီးကန်း
ညေခါခင်ပွန်း မြဲစွာမွှမ်းသည်
ကျီးကန်းရောက်ပါလတ်တည်း --။
အဆွီလျှင် နောက်ကျီးကန်း (Please get help from the flies. Then, the flies
ယင်မရဲကို မြဲစွာခင်ပွန်းမွှမ်း၍ (came around and laid eggs on the face of the deer.
မျက်စိရစ်ဝန်းလည်
ယင်မလာ၍
ဖြူစွာ ဥလာသည်တည်း --။
အဆွီလျှင် နောက်ကျီးကန်း (The crow pretended eating the flies’ eggs.
ဦးဂေါင်းမြီတွင်
နှုတ်သွီးတောက်ဟန်ပြု၍
ထိုခဏ လယ်သခင် (Then, the farmer thought the deer was dead
ပြီးခုန်ပင် လာတုံလတ်(And pulled out the rope out of the deer’s neck.
သရီကြိုးသည်
လိုင်ဝယ် လျှင်ဆောချွတ်လည်း --။
ထိုယောက်ျားလယ်သခင် (The farmer went into the jungle,
ကြံလတ်လျှင် စောခါ ခြုံထဲဝင်၍ (to get the vines
နွယ်ပင်ဖြတ်လှီးငြားလည်း --။ (to tie the legs of the deer.
အာအာသည် ကျူးမြည်လတ် (Then, the crow made a sound,
ချီသမင်သည် (And the deer had run away and escaped.
ဖြုန်းဖြုန်းပြီးသည်ဖြစ်လည်း --။
ထိုယောက်ျားလယ်သခင် (When the farmer saw the deer escaped,
လက်တွင် ဒါးနှင့်ပစ် (he was so upset
ခြုံထဲရွှက် ပုန်း၍နီ (And throw the sword against the deer.
မြိုင်ခွီးဂေါင်းတွင် (But it went astray
မှန်လျှင် သီခီပြီလည်း --။ (And hit the jackal’s head and jackal was dead.
ဤနည်းလျှင် မုံတရှိ (The same way,
မေလတ်ဖြူမှာ (My dear girl has untrue lover.
ဖျက်သူနှင့်ရာ တွိလည်း --။
မချိသည် လွန်ယောင်သဲ (She is now broken-hearted and crying,
မေချစ် အပူဝင်သည် (the same as the deer does.
သမင်ပမာ နည်းတည့်လည်း --။
မကိုက်ပါဖူး = မကိုက်ဖူးပါ
မုံတရှိ = ထိုနည်းဥပမာနှင့် အတူတူ အရှိရှိ ၊ ထိုနည်းတူစွာ
လွန်ယောင်သဲ = အလွန် အသဲအသန်၊ လွန်စွာ အသဲအသန်ဖြစ်သည်။
ထရိပူရကရသော ရှိဟောင်းရခိုင်ဂန္ဓဝင်ကဗျာတပုဒ်ဖြစ်ပါသည်။ အလယ်တန်းသင်ရိုးညွှန်တန်း၌ ပြဌာန်းသင့်သည်။ ကိုယ်တော်ပညာစာရ ကောင်းမှုပြုပါသည်။
